About the Initiative

Sita Anandam Cancer Care Initiative

A collaborative effort to bring early cancer detection, awareness, and treatment support to the most marginalised — because no one should lose their life to a disease that can be treated, simply because they couldn't access or afford care.

The Challenge

Cancer is treatable. But for millions, the belief that it isn't becomes a death sentence.

Among the most marginalised communities, cancer carries a fatalism that prevents people from seeking help. The word itself is enough to make families give up hope. Myths, stigma, and fear combine with a lack of access to create a devastating gap between what medicine can do and what reaches those who need it most.

The idea is simple but transformative: identify cancer as early as possible, break the myths that prevent people from seeking care, and financially support patients through treatment — so that a diagnosis does not become a verdict.

Patient receiving support
How We Support

Financial & Facilitation Support

We provide direct financial support covering everything from initial screening to treatment — until patients can access government schemes or NGO support. We also facilitate that transition.

  • Travel costs for hospital visits and diagnostic tests
  • Initial consultations and follow-up screenings
  • Treatment costs, medication, and hospital stays
  • Linkage to Ayushman Bharat, PMJAY, and NGO schemes
  • Ongoing coordination between all partners
A Collective Effort
